Results are estimates
Every QuantityHost calculator gives an estimate, not a guarantee. Results use common rules of thumb, such as how many drinks a guest has per hour or how many glasses a bottle pours. Each page lists the assumptions it uses, and you can change them to fit your event. We always round up, so you're more likely to have a little left over than to run out.
Guests, weather, the length of your event and your menu all change how much you need. For large orders, check the numbers with your venue, caterer or supplier before you buy.
Alcohol and responsible hosting
Our drink calculators help you plan quantities. QuantityHost doesn't sell alcohol or encourage drinking. If you serve alcohol:
- Only serve guests who are of legal drinking age. It is 21 in the United States, 18 in the United Kingdom and Australia, and 18 or 19 in Canada, depending on the province.
- Plan plenty of water, non-alcoholic drinks and food.
- Make sure every guest has a safe way home. Never drink and drive.
- Check your local rules. In some places, hosts can be held responsible for harm caused by guests they served.
